LARCENY: Niagara County sheriff’s deputies responded to an Emily Lane address at 4:49 p.m. Friday for a trespass complaint. A resident said that at 7 a.m. she walked outside to her driveway and noticed several business cards belonging to a Niagara Falls police detective, a black notebook and a piece of paper near her husband’s,nrented vehicle. The husband added that the vehicle was unlocked and it appeared his briefcase, which was in the vehicle, was moved, but nothing was missing. The woman went outside to get her newspaper at 3:30 p.m. and found a Garmin GPS in her mailbox. She recalled that her neighborhad posted a message on Facebook at 12:26 a.m. stating that he heard his car alarm go off then saw two kids near a neighbor’s garage. Patrol interviewed another neighbor who reported that at 6:30 a.m. she noticed her vehicle was entered however nothing was taken, but her friend, the Falls detective, was at her residence the night before and that her vehicle had been gone through as well and her Garmin GPS was missing. Patrol spoke with the detective who did not wish to report the incident. At the detective’s request, the GPS, black notebook and cards were left with the friend.

POSSESSION: James W. Walker, 30, of Lockport was charged at 8:04 a.m. Thursday with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana, and two vehicle and traffic law infractions after he was stopped on the Robinson Road extension. He was issued an appearance ticket.
