CHARGED: Vanessa M. Swan, 20, 453 Walnut St., was charged with falsely reporting an incident Wednesday. According to the arrest report, in August Swan gave a statement in which she said she was a victim of domestic violence. She allegedly lied in order to obtain an order of protection so that the man would be evicted from the apartment. She recanted her statement in court, police said.

FALSE STATEMENT: Austin D. Vercruysse, 317 Michigan St. Apt. C, was charged with making a false statement Wednesday. According to the report, Vercruysse lied about his original statement regarding a scrap metal incident on Sept. 9 on South Niagara Street. Brandon A. Brott, 16, 72 Charlotte St.; Joshua M. Herman, 17, 5840 Robinson Road; Cory M. Huber, 18, 29 Harwood Place; and Cedrick J. Luke, 17, 45 Ontario St. had been charged with with fourth-degree grand larceny, fifth-degree conspiracy and third-degree criminal trespass. The investigation is ongoing. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office did a drug influence evaluation on Moon at the Lockport police station and she was found to be impaired by drugs, police said.


BURGLARY: A Wilson-Burt Road resident reported items valued at $6.500 were taken from her home on Wednesday. According to the report, someone had broken her back window and entered her home. Deputies noticed a screen was detached from the window on the rear enclosed patio. The victim’s closet was tossed and the contents scattered across her bedroom. The entire contents of her jewelry cabinet, a Dell laptop (valued at $1,200), Nintendo Wii ($300) and $5,000 worth of jewelry were missing.
