ENDANGERING: Kevin T. Budde, 26, 85 Niagara St., Apt. 2, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child Wednesday. According to the report, on Sept. 10 Budde threatened to leave a 4-year-old child alone if the child was not picked up right way. The child was found alone, riding her bike in a Ruhlmann Road driveway. The police responded but no one answered the door. Budde refused to talk to the officer, police said. A domestic incident report was filed and Budde was arrested at his home.

Town of Lockport

CONTRABAND: Carly G. McEvoy, 23, 4914 Creek Road, Lewiston, was charged Tuesday with promoting prison contraband. A Niagara County Jail inmate, McEvoy was arrested by the Lewiston Police earlier in the day. During a search, McEvoy was found with a black folding knife that had a 4-inch blade. She is due to appear this week in Lockport Town Court.

DWI: Julie A. Smith, 41, 681 Market St., was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Tops Markets on South Transit for an accident in which Smith reportedly hit another vehicle. After talking with Smith and a witness, deputies determined Smith was drunk. She is set to appear this week in Lockport Town Court.
