Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — ARSON: Jared M. Brown, 16, 218 South St., was charged Thursday night with fifth-degree arson. Police showed up to Canal Street where a trash can was on fire. Officers saw Brown and a juvenile walking near Gonzo’s on Main Street and spoke with them. Brown reportedly admitted starting the fire with another guy who left the area on a bicycle. Police arrested Brown and put together an arrest package for the other. The juvenile, who also appeared intoxicated, was ticketed and released to parents, police said.

BURGLARY: A McClew Road man told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that he arrived home from work at 4:40 p.m. and found shattered glass. He said someone had used a brick to break the sliding glass door, which is the entrance to the kitchen. Stolen were a laptop, a Wii game system and accessories, an iPod, iPhone charger and $35. Total loss and damage were $1,665, deputies said.
