POSSESSION: Samuel E. Hillman, 20, 210 Ontario St., was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana early Saturday. A patrol officer initiated a traffic stop on Hillman’s vehicle on Saxton Street about 12:50 a.m., after Hillman allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign. While questioning Hillman, the officer noted an odor of marijuana in the vehicle, at which point Hillman surrendered a small amount of it, according to the arrest report.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A Randolph Road homeowner reported finding vulgar words written on her property this week. According to the sheriff’s office, words were written in paint on the mailbox and the front porch, and the driveway was marked with chalk.
