BURGLARY: Tracy N. Shannon, 42, 5724 Glendale Drive Apt. 1 was charged at 12:39 a.m. Saturday with burglary, menacing, criminal mischief, attempted assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Police responded to an upper apartment at 26 Elmwood Ave. to investigate a disturbance. They found Shannon trying to leave the scene and detained him. A victim then told police that she was in her apartment with her boyfriend and her nine-year-old son and they heard a loud noise. She looked down her stairwell and saw Shannon, who is her ex-boyfriend and the father of her child, had busted the door in. He allegedly entered the home, yelling and shouting at the victim. According to the report, Shannon then placed his hands around her neck, trying to choke her. He also scratched her neck. Shannon was held for court.

Pendleton

FIRE: Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies and Wendelville firefighters responded to 5506 Mapleton Road at 2:47 a.m. Monday following a report that a vehicle in the driveway was on fire. Patrol arrived to find a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup, fully engulfed in flames. The homeowner told patrol that the pickup had been parked in her driveway for about a week and hadn’t been moved. She was awakened to a load boom and looked out and saw the Dodge on fire. The Dodge is registered to her boyfriend, who was not home at time of report. Wendelville Fire Co. extinguished the fire. Heat from the flames also damaged a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice, and the vinyl siding of the residence. The Dodge was a total loss. No estimate of damage was available.
