DWI: Michael E. West, 50, 195 Prospect St. was charged with driving while intoxicated and improper lane use Wednesday. According to the report, the police observed the vehicle drive off the road onto a sidewalk 1:50 a.m. on Pine Street. There was an odor of alcoholic beverage and West failed field sobriety tests.

LARCENY: Felicia M. Ranck, 24, 6035 South Transit Road, No. 208, was charged Friday with petit larceny after patrol responded to Kenyon's, 6550 Robinson Road for a larceny complaint. The director of security told patrol that one of the employees was caught stealing from a cash register. Ranck was also there and had written a letter of apology to the business. According to the report, the letter, signed by Ranck, stated that while she was employed at Kenyon's form early January to Feb. 21 she took approximately $400 from the cash register. Ranck was remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.
GRAND LARCENY: A Ransomville woman reported she discovered her purse missing after shopping at a store on South Transit Street on Tuesday. According to the sheriff's report, the woman was shopping at 1 p.m. and left her purse in the shopping cart. After unloading her shopping cart, she drove away and realized she did not have the purse. She went back to look for it but it was gone. The purse contained about $85, a credit card, her social security card, medical card, her drivers license and paperwork. An employee who was working during the incident said there was no still sign of the purse.
DWI: Joseph P. Allen, 48, Newfane, was charged at 11:03 p.m. Feb. 21 with driving while intoxicated after patrol responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at 2267 Lockport Olcott Road. Patrol interviewed Allen and noticed he had signs of intoxication. According to the report, Allen told a deputy that he had just left a bar where he had consumed "about three normal sized beers." Patrol observed three twelve ounce cans of Yuengling beer inside of Allen's vehicle and four of the same on the ground under the driver's door. Allen failed field sobriety tests and he refused a breath test. A DMV records check determined that Allen had a prior conviction for DWI in Nov. 2007 in Royalton. Allen was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane after he complained of being shaken up from the accident. He was also charged with failure to keep right, driving while ability impaired, DWAI with a previous conviction, refusal to take a breath test and open container in a motor vehicle.
POSSESSION OF ALCOHOL: Eric R. Bellardini, 18, 6808 Tonawanda Creek Road, Lockport; Michaela M. Eisenhauer, 18, 6555 Emily Lane, Lockport; Timothy J. Hubbard, 17, 4086 Beach Ridge Road, Pendleton; Dylan J. Lampka, 18, 3967 Hill Road, Wheatfield and Alan H. Reimer Jr., 17, 7281 Lakeview Court, Pendleton were all charged at 11:55 p.m. Saturday with unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21. Patrol responded to 5865 Dunnigan Road for a report of an underage party. Patrol found 10 people at the home consuming alcohol and collected identification from everyone there. None were over the age of 21. A resident of the home said her mother was at her boyfriend's and had given her permission to have a few people over. Deputies asked who brought the Bud Light and Natural Ice beer for them to drink, but no one replied. All five were released on appearance tickets.
