Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — City of Lockport

DWI: Bruno J. Haney, 53, 320 Gooding St. was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Lockport Police said officers were called to Hawley and Caledonia streets for a two-car accident. An Elmhurst Drive man was given a ticket for not yielding the right of way to Haney in the accident, but Haney reportedly had bloodshot eyes and was slurring his speech. He also smelled of alcohol, the police said. Officers also found that his license was revoked and a bottle of a green leafy vegetable matter was found in the vehicle. The matter reportedly tested positive for marijuana. He was given an appearance ticket for Monday in city court.

LARCENY: A Youngstown-Lockport Road man reported Wednesday to Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that two 2008 Kawasaki all-terrian vehicles were missing from his property. The two ATVs are valued at $7,500, the report said. The victim reported a metal lock on the shed that housed one of the ATVs was broken in half, while the other ATV was missing from its spot in the victim’s temporary carport. A member of the victim’s family heard the ATVs being started up at about 2:43 a.m., but thought it was a member of the family taking them for a ride, which wouldn’t have been out of the ordinary, the victim said.
