ASSAULT: Michael S. Clines, 48, 80 Genesee St., Apt. 4, was charged with third-degree assault about 9:50 p.m. Friday. Clines is due in City Court on Monday. 

ASSAULT: Douglas M. Smith, 41, 132 S. Transit St., was charged with obstructing breath and third-degree assault about 7 p.m. Friday. Smith is due in City Court on Monday. 

Town of Lockport

SMASH & GRAB: A resident on the 7100 block of Rochester Road reported a radio was removed from his locked vehicle sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, it appears a spatula and/or a tiki torch were used to break a window on the vehicle; those items were taken off a porch on the property and were found next to the vehicle. Including the radio and vehicle damage, the owner’s loss is estimated to be $800. The case is closed pending new information, the sheriff’s office said.

Gasport

SMASH & GRAB: A resident on the 4700 block of Cottage Road reported a backpack was removed from his locked vehicle sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday. According to the sheriff’s office, the rear left window of the vehicle was broken out. Contents of the backpack included running sneakers and gym clothes, the owner said. Including the backpack, contents and vehicle damage, the owner’s loss is estimated to be $550.

Newfane

STOLEN VEHICLE: A resident on the 6300 block of Jockey Road reported his 1997 Nissan Pathfinder was stolen sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday. The owner said he parked the vehicle behind his home and left it unlocked with the keys in the ignition. The green Pathfinder has a black hatch and contained a tool box and a speaker, according to the sheriff’s office. Including the vehicle and contents, the owner’s loss is estimated to be $2,370. The Criminal Investigation Bureau was notified and investigation will continue, the sheriff’s office said.
