MENACING: Rachellynn R. Mongiovi, 30, 88 Olcott St. Apt. 2 was charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment Thursday. Police responded to a report of a domestic incident on Adam Street at 4:40 a.m. According to the report, Mongiovi entered the victim’s home to discuss their relationship. Mongiovi allegedly held a knife to the victim’s side and threatened her. The victim attempted to escape but was punched in the head and stomach, Lockport Police said. A neighbor heard the commotion and pulled Mongiovi off the victim.

BURGLARY: Lewis C. Wright, 54, 172 High St. Apt. B was charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal trespass Thursday. According the report, a Waterman Street man said that a man was in his home at 3:35 a.m. The resident thought he heard someone in his bedroom closet, but thought it was his sister and went back asleep. He heard a person in his apartment again and saw a flashlight. He confronted Wright and called the police. Nothing was reported missing, but the victim feels Wright was looking for something. Wright was located at his residence and taken into custody.  

Town of Lockport

SHOPLIFTING: Dana L. Rightmyer, 19, 283 Elmwood Ave., was charged with petit larceny Tuesday. Deputies said they were called to the Bon-Ton store on South Transit Road for a shoplifter. Rightmyer reportedly took merchandise totaling $136 from the store, according to Bon-Ton’s loss prevention officer. Rightmyer was given an appearence ticket for Aug. 6 in Lockport Town Court.

DWI: Peter A. Gumins, 65, of Lockport was charged at 11:52 p.m. Wednesday with driving while intoxicated after he was pulled over by State Police on South Transit Road for vehicle and traffic offenses. He was also charged with DWAI by drugs and alcohol, operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, moving from a lane unsafely, no headlights, illegal signal and operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate. He was released on an appearance ticket.
