CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to Upper Mountain Road for a report of a broken window around 11:55 p.m. Thursday, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said. The deputy found a window kicked in around an air conditioner unit. The county night watchman was advised of the damage so it can be repaired, the Sheriff’s Office said. 

SEXUAL MISCONDUCT: Jared A. Person, 18, Lockport, was charged Thursday with sexual misconduct and first-degree criminal sex act, by force, for an incident on April 2, the New York State Police said. He was also charged with second-degree harassment and criminal mischief for an incident on March 27. He was being held on $2,500 bail in the first incident, and $500 bail on the second.

MARIJUANA: Brian A. Melcher, 27, 105 Van Buren St., Lockport, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stay right around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said. Melcher was taken to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $250 bail, and is due in court on Tuesday.

SHOPLIFTING: John C. Damelates, 44, Newfane, was charged with petit larceny around 3:50 p.m. Thursday, the New York State Police said. He was issued an appearance ticket.
