Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — MEDINA — A woman and her grandson escaped serious injury Sunday when the ATV they were riding flipped over backwards.
Debra R. Miller, 57, was operating the ATV on private property in the 10300 block of Mill Road, riding up an incline near the residence with her 3-year-old grandson onboard, when the machine flipped over backwards.
The child was thrown clear and was not injured, but Miller was pinned underneath. Neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time, according to the Orleans County Sheriff's Office.
Miller was transported by MercyFlight to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, where she was treated and released.
Ridgeway volunteer firefighters and Medina Fire Department ambulance personnel assisted at the scene.
