• CONTEMPT: Simon M. Chavers, 33, 642 Walnut St., was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle early Friday. A patrol officer stopped Chavers' vehicle on Church Street, near Niagara Street, for an alleged equipment violation. A records check indicated Chavers' driver's license is suspended, and also that he's the subject of a court order directing him to not drive, according to the police report. Chavers was released on $250 bail ahead of a Monday appearance in City Court.
• ROBBERY: Kenneth D. Robinson, 38, 56 Webb St., was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree grand larceny Friday. Robinson is accused of breaking into the Refuge Temple of Christ Church, Cottage Street, and taking $1,600 in cash and checks from a safe this past April, according to the police report. Robinson was arraigned Friday and was ordered held without bail pending a Monday hearing.

• SHOPLIFTING: Nathaniel D. Smith, 32, 198 Lock St.,was charged on a warrant with petit larceny and second-degree obstructing governmental administration Thursday. Smith is accused of taking a Phillips DVD/CD player from Walmart, South Transit Road, on Sept. 3, according to state police.
• FORCIBLE TOUCHING: A 12-year-old male from Ransomville was charged with forcible touching Thursday after a state police investigation. The victim in the incident, reported to police this past May, is another juvenile male, the agency said. The boy received a ticket to appear in juvenile court, through the Niagara County Probation Department.
