ASSAULT: Josue O. Ortiz, 28, 177 Pine St., Apt. B, was charged Thursday with third-degree assault. Lockport Police said a Lockport woman, through a translator, said Ortiz punched her in the mouth, causing her to black out. Ortiz reportedly punched her in the arm as well. Ortiz was arrested and held for court.

HARASSMENT: Kimberly L. Hamilton, 39, 36 Spruce St., Apt. 3, was charged Thursday with second-degree harassment. Hamilton reportedly hit a Lockport man in the face with a lamp, causing redness and swelling. She turned herself into police Thursday.

LARCENY: Brandy L. Haner, 32, 6138 Ruhlmann Road, was charged Wednesday with petit larceny. An employee of Tops Markets on South Transit Road told the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office that Haner was seen taking several items, totaling $151, without paying for them. Haner was given an appearance ticket for Dec. 5 in Lockport Town Court.
