Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Newfane

• LARCENY: A Niagara County parks department employee reported the theft of a stack of bricks from a pallet outside the maintenance building at Krull Park, Olcott, sometime overnight Saturday-Sunday. The stack contained 11, 11-by-2-inch gray bricks and is worth about $20, according to the sheriff's office.

• LARCENY: A resident in the 5900 block of Elmwood Lane reported items were taken from his unlocked vehicle over the weekend. The resident said he parked his green 1994 Ford Ranger around 11 p.m. Friday and left the keys in the ignition. When he went to retrieve the truck at noon Saturday, he said, the truck was parked in the opposite direction that he'd parked it, making him suspect someone had taken the truck for a ride. Items missing from the truck include a blue-and-black Garmin GPS unit, a 2000-watt Pyramid amplifier and a dozen packs of Seneca menthol cigarettes, altogether worth $505, according to the sheriff's office. A responding deputy noted damage on the truck's dashboard, above the radio, possibly caused by someone trying to remove the radio.

• LARCENY: A Lockport resident reported her purse was taken from her unlocked white 2002 Ford Escape while she was parked at Jex Cleaners, Lockport-Olcott Road, late Saturday morning. The blue leather purse contained a brown leather wallet, embroidered with the letters "CJH," numerous identification and debit cards and $20 cash, according to the sheriff's office.

• D.W.I.: Michael C. Moyer, 32, 3229 Bellreng Drive, Niagara Falls, was charged with a felony count of driving while intoxicated after a sheriff's patrol officer found him asleep at the wheel of his vehicle, parked along Saunders Settlement Road facing west, about 5:20 a.m. Saturday. After Moyer was taken into custody, he submitted to breath testing, the results of which showed his blood alcohol content measured 0.10 percent, according to the arrest report. Moyer was convicted of D.W.I. previously, in Amherst in 2009, the report said. Moyer was held on $250 bail pending a Wednesday appearance in Town Court.
