CONTEMPT: Matthew G. Pollina, 28, 1841 Weston St., Niagara Falls was charged Wednesday with second-degree criminal contempt. Pollina allegedly contacted an East Avenue woman several times despite a valid full stay-away order.

MISCHIEF: Andrew M. Johnston, 17, 246 Akron St. was charged Tuesday with second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree tampering and trespass. According to the arrest report, police saw Johnston pouring tar on the roof of a building.

Town of Lockport

D.W.I.: Jeffrey J. Francis, 23, 184 Vine St., was charged with driving while intoxicated around 2:45 a.m. Sunday on South Transit Road. A sheriff’s patrol officer spotted Francis’ black pickup operating without headlights, initiated a traffic stop near Bridlewood Drive and determined that Francis exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication, according to the sheriff’s office. Later breath testing showed Francis’ blood alcohol content measured 0.17 percent, the arrest report said. Francis was held on $250 bail.

BURGLARY: A Cloverleaf Lane man reported to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office that an unknown person entered his 2006 Mercedes Benz and stole two laptop computers valued at $3,000 total.


LARCENY: An employee of Absolute Care, 4540 Lincoln Drive, reported $50 was taken from her purse during a fire alarm drill early Sunday. The employee left her purse in a common area of the nursing home during the half-hour drill, and when checking its contents afterward, discovered two $20 bills and one $10 bill were missing, according to the sheriff’s office.

LARCENY: The manager of Dollar General, 8405 Rochester Road, complained a customer stole $100 in items from the store on Aug. 9, then later returned the items and received a gift card for the equivalent value. The manager reported the theft to the Niagara County Sheriff’s office on Monday. The customer, described as a white male, is known to some store staff, and the manager is providing police with security footage from inside the store on Aug. 9, the incident report said.

LARCENY: A resident in the 4000 block of Quaker Road reported a bicycle was taken from the property overnight Sunday-Monday. The powder blue mountain bike was kept outside a barn next to the residence and is valued at $50, according to the sheriff’s office.


LARCENY: A homeowner in the 9200 block of Ridge Road reported items were taken from two unlocked vehicles on the property overnight Sunday-Monday. Items missing from the vehicles — a tan, 2003 Chevy Blazer and a brown 2000 Jeep Cherokee — include a carton of Seneca cigarettes, a silver Garmin GPS unit, a Sylvania 7-inch portable DVD player and $20 cash. According to the sheriff’s office, the items together are valued at $390.


DWI: Sandra M. Jacobi, 50, 6344 Aiken Road was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said Jacobi was stopped on Beach Ridge Road and an odor of alcohol was noticed on her by deputies. She reportedly failed multiple field sobriety tests and registered a .18 percent blood alcohol content. Jacobi was taken to Niagara County Jail on $250 bail and is to report Aug. 28 in Pendleton Town Court.


LARCENY: Jamal D. Harris-Martin, 24, 191 Orange St., Buffalo was charged Thursday with petit larceny. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said Harris-Martin left the Niagara County Community College bookstore with a textbook in his backpack without paying. He was given an appearance ticket for Aug. 27 in Cambria Town Court.
