DWI: Kyle T. Stewart, 26, 2127 River Road, Niagara Falls was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated, seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, unreasonable speed, improper lane use, criminal possession of hypodermic needles and fourth-degree criminal mischief. At 8:56 p.m., the police responded to Walnut Street for a report of a single-car accident. The vehicle hit a tree and ran over a sign. According to the report, Stewart had watery eyes and his pupils were dilated. The caller said Stewart hid something in the bushes. Police said they found a sunglass case with three oxymorphone pills and eight hypodermic needles. Stewart complained of neck pain and was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport. Stewart was administered a blood test. 

PETIT LARCENY: Dwayne L. Parchment, 29, 36 South Transit St. was charged with petit larceny Thursday. According to the police report, Parchment took a bottle of beer at 11:20 p.m. from a Sunoco station beer cooler took a beer and put it in his sweat shirt. Parchment was found near Ruhlmann Road. He was highly intoxicated and eventually passed out in the holding cell, police said. He was taken Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport.

CHARGED: Clayton M. Herring, 31, 17 Works Place was charged with obstruction of second-degree obstruction of governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana Thursday. According to the report, Herring was interfering with the repossession of a vehicle at 11:30 p.m. on Works Place. He was sitting on the ground not allowing repossession, officers said.


SOLICITING: Jedidiah J. Aikin, 28, 21 C St., Niagara Falls was charged Wednesday with loitering and improper soliciting. Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies said Aikin was outside asking customers and employees for money at Tops Markets on Lockport-Olcott Road in Wrights Corners. Deputies reportedly told Aikin, which he did, but he soon returned and continued to beg for money. Aikin was taken into custody and transported to Niagara County Jail on $100 bail.

Town of Lockport

LARCENY: A Lockwood Lane man told Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Friday someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and took his Apple iPod Touch with charger, totaling about $175. The iPod and charger were taken sometime during the night Tuesday and Wednesday. The case was sent to the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
