AUTO STRIPPING: An Oxford Lane woman reported Tuesday to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office that an unknown person had damaged her 2007 Jeep Commander. Deputies said there were scratches along both sides of the vehicle, as well as on the hood and rear lift gate. The driver’s side window was broken and the door was left ajar. Seats were slashed and the dashboard display screen was broken. Two steering wheel control wands were broken. The interior door lights were pulled out from the roof and the control knobs on the dashboard were missing. Two rear tires were punctured and flat. All of the damage totaled $1,000, the report said.

DWI: Michele L. Entwistle, 51, 128 Ontario St. was charged Tuesday with driving while intoxicated. Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies said Entwistle was pulled over for allegedly driving 72 mph in a 55 mph zone on Lockport Road. Deputies said Entwistle had an odor of alcohol on her, as well as slurred speech, glassy eyes and impaired motor coordination. She also failed four field sobriety tests, deputies said. A chemical test determined her blood alcohol content to be .08 percent. Entwistle was taken to Niagara County Jail on $250 bail and is due Aug. 15 in Lockport Town Court.

When asked how many beers he had, Olewine reportedly said seven or eight and that he had “OD’d on the beer tonight and should have gotten a ride.” Deputies said Olewine had impaired motor coordination, slurred speech, glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol on him. He failed five field sobriety tests, deputies reported. A test said Olewine’s blood alcohol content was .14 percent. He was taken to Niagara County Jail on $250 bail.
