ASSAULT: Kevin Clapsdale, 23, 107 Washington St., was charged with third-degree assault and obstruction of breathing Sunday.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: William Brown Jr., 21, 190 Erie St., apt. lower, was charged Sunday with third- and fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree obstructing a government official and resisting arrest. Brown is due in City Court on Wednesday.

DWI: Steven A. Wells, 18, 5762 West Ave., Newfane, was charged with driving while intoxicated and disobeying a traffic device Sunday. He was taken to Niagara County Jail on $250 bail and is due in City Court on Wednesday.

ASSAULT: Gerald Estes, 48, 318 Walnut St., apt 6, was charged with third-degree assault Jan. 18.

POSSESSION: Christopher Richardson, 40, 266 Niagara St. was charged Tuesday morning with two counts of third degree possession of a controlled substance, failure to signal and operating a vehicle without insurance. Return date is 9:30 p.m. Wednesday under judge William Watson. 

GRAND LARCENY: Eric Harrington, 39, 486 Davidson Road, apt. A,  was charged Monday with fourth degree grand larceny. Return date is 9:30 a.m. Wednesday under judge William Watson.  

Town of Lockport

DWI: William G. Eberle, 55, of Lockport was charged with driving while intoxicated Sunday. Eberle was held at Niagara County Jail, according to New York State Police.

HARASSMENT: Molly E. Burley, 34, of Youngstown, was charged with aggravated harassment Jan. 18. She was given a court appearance ticket by New York State Police.

LARCENY: An Old Beattie Road woman reported to the Sheriff’s Office last week she had mailed a 2-karat diamond ring to an online buyer in Detroit and did not receive the agreed-upon $650 payment for it. The buyer reportedly said he would pay through PayPal, but as of the report had not done so, although the ring was shipped. The woman tried to contact the Detroit buyer and did not reach him.

POSSESSION: Matthew R. Simano, 24, 705 Gardenwood Drive, was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, possession of a hypodermic needle, resisting arrest, violating probation and tampering with physical evidence Jan. 16. Simano was arraigned by town Justice Leonard Tilney, who ordered him held on $4,500 bail, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

SHOPLIFTING: Destanie R. Brown, 18, 23 Allen St., Lockport, was charged with petit larceny Jan. 18. Brown is scheduled to appear Thursday in Lockport Town Court, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

LARCENY: A Buffalo woman reported to the Sheriff’s Office that an unknown person entered her vehicle, while it was parked on Jim Kelly Drive overnight Jan. 17-Jan. 18, and took a $2 winning lottery ticket. Nothing else was missing from the vehicle.

THEFT: A Jim Kelly Drive resident told the Sheriff’s Office that an unknown person entered her vehicle overnight Jan. 18-Jan. 19 and took approximately $7.50 from the center console. Nothing else was missing from the vehicle.

FIRE: The Sheriff’s Office and Rapids Volunteer Fire Co. were called to 1110 Lockwood Drive on Sunday, when the resident said he saw and smelled smoke as he tried to thaw out the pipes of the hot water tank. Rapids said the fire was out before its arrival but damage was done to the house’s siding, insulation and wood structure. The resident was able to remain in the home.

DWI: Michael A. Neuland, 20, 5660 Saunders Settlement Road, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speeding and moving from a lane unsafely. Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies said Neuland was arrested after hitting another vehicle and a utility pole, then was given a court appearance ticket for Feb. 18 in Lockport Town Court.

Cambria

IMPAIRED: Claudia J. Herbold, 61, 3253 Lower Mountain Road, Sanborn, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to keep right and moving from a lane unsafely early Sunday after the vehicle she was driving struck a guard rail on Ridge Road near Beebe Road. Herbold was held at Niagara County Jail, in lieu of $100 bail, ahead of a scheduled Tuesday appearance in Cambria Town Court, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Newfane

DWI: Nick E. Turvey, Jr., 23, 5332 Chestnut Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding Sunday. Turvey was held at Niagara County Jail, in lieu of $250 bail, ahead of a scheduled Tuesday appearance in Newfane Town Court, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Wilson

CONTEMPT: Jerry A. Beemer, 60, was charged Monday with second-degree criminal contempt. New York State Police said Beemer was released on bail.

Medina

ASSAULT: Eric M. Ridgeway, 37, 5972 Washington St., Olcott, was charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation Jan. 18. Ridgeway was arraigned and held on $2,500 bail ahead of a scheduled return to Ridgeway Town Court on Jan. 27.
