DWI: Matthew Pierce, 26, Bowmiller Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated by New York State Police on Wednesday. Police reported they received a disturbance call on Tonawanda Creek Road in Clarence. Troopers were told one of the people involved left the scene. Later, it was determined that was Pierce, who was found at a gas station on Plank and Rapids roads, troopers reported. No criminal violations were found regarding the disturbance but Bowmiller failed sobriety tests and police determined he was intoxicated. He had a blood alcohol level of .12 percent. Bowmiller was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Lockport court at a later date.
LARCENY: A Gasport woman told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday her bank had contacted her about her debit card. The victim said KeyBank had informed her that the card had been used at a Exxon Mobile Station in Poshialleah, Fla. The account showed a posting of $25 on Wednesday from that location. The bank noticed the card had been used in Florida and New York on the same day, prompting the call. The victim still had the card and was unsure how her card number had been obtained. KeyBank canceled the card.
