LARCENY: A Lincoln Avenue woman reported this weekend her 2010 Nissan Sentra was taken without permission. According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was driving three others when she stopped on Lincoln Place to use a restroom. When she returned, one of the occupants drove off. The vehicle is listed with a value of $10,000, deputies said.
GRAND LARCENY: An air conditioning unit was reported stolen from the South Lockport Fire Co. Deputies said the unit was located outside of a building the fire company owns and costs about $3,500.
MARIJUANA: Robert W. Barker, 49, 6594 Dysinger Road and Derrick T. Washington, 38, 70 Waterman St. were charged Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana. Sheriff’s deputies said Washington was pulled over on the Lockport Bypass during a DWI checkpoint. While speaking with him, deputies could smell marijuana, they reported. Deputies also reportedly found a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance, along with a box of Zig Zag rolling papers and three small cigarettes containing a green leafy substance. Deputies also found a black zipper case containing a clear plastic bag of a green leafy substance as well as a multi-colored glass smoking pipe. Both Barker and Washington are due to appear Sept. 10 in Lockport Town Court.
LARCENY: About 52 morphine pills were taken from a Rose Road home, Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported Sunday. A 63-year-old woman said the pills were in a prescription bottle with her name on it. The back door to her house was pried open, deputies said.
