Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — The Amherst man who was injured in a motorcycle crash in Lockport last week died from his wounds Sunday, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office announced.

William A. Carrigan, 56, the motorcycle driver, had been in critical condition at Erie County Medical Center since the Oct. 9 evening crash. His passenger, Karin Young, 51, remains at ECMC in good condition, the sheriff's office said.

Both were injured when their motorcycle crashed into a minivan that police say turned into their path at South Transit and Rapids roads. Initial investigation by the sheriff's office indicated the motorcycle was northbound on South Transit when the southbound minivan turned in front of it onto Rapids. The motorcycle struck the minivan's passenger side and Carrigan and Young were ejected from the motorcycle.

The minivan operator was treated at the scene and released.

The accident remains under investigation, the sheriff's office said.
