ASSAULT: John D. Oliver, 30, 53 Elmwood Ave. lower was charged Monday with third-degree assault and obstruction of breath. The alleged offense occurred on May 30 on Nichols Street. According to the report, the victim said she was involved in an argument with Oliver and he grabbed her by the throat and pushed her to the ground. A witness attempted to pull Oliver of the victim and called police. Oliver, who was contacted by phone, said he was defending himself and would turn himself in. Oliver was arrested at his residence. 

LOUD MUSIC: Two Lockport people were charged with loud music violations on Washburn Street on Monday. Christopher Joseph, 22, 70 Niagara Street and Kristopher D. Herbt, 32, 28 Morrow St. received appearance tickets.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Paul T. Villeneuve, 24, 6520 Ridge Road was charged Monday with disorderly conduct. Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies said they saw Villeneuve shouting at two Modern Disposal employees during a dispute. One of the employees told deputies Villeneuve started shouting at them while they were picking up the trash. Villeneuve reportedly was complaining about some of the trash not being picked up, which the Modern employees said he explained the company policy of not collecting trash in approved containers. Villeneuve allegedly picked up a barrel with garbage in it and threw it into the garbage truck. He was issued an appearance ticket for June 18 in Newfane Town Court.
