LOCAL GOLF: Catholic Golf Tournament July 18 at Oak Run

Staff Reports

TOWN OF LOCKPORT Catholic parishes in Lockport are getting together once again to host their annual golf tournament, which will raise money for city-wide religious education programs.

The second “Lockport Catholic Cup” is slated for July 18 at the Oak Run Golf Course on Lake Avenue.

This year’s tourney is a four-person scramble beginning with a picnic lunch at 11 a.m. The tournament will open with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and will conclude with a delicious steak dinner with all the trimmings at 6 p.m.

Mike White Sounds will provide the entertainment throughout the day and will provide music during dinner.

Other features include games, raffles and multiple prize give-aways and an overnight trip to Toronto with dinner and theater tickets for a hole-in-one.

The cost is $90 per person, which includes greens fees, cart and meal. The cost for attending the dinner only is $30.

Applications are available at the entrances of all Lockport Catholic churches.

Proceeds will be donated to the newly-formed St. Joseph’s Catechetical Center to help with the establishment of a city-wide religious education program, as well as St. John’s Outreach and Lockport Cares programs.
