Blue Zone is N-O boys soccer Titletown

Panthers capture school's first ever N-O soccer title outright

Newfane senior Brandon Henry earned the win in goal, making eight saves in the Blue Zone.
Rounding out the 2012 Newfane roster are seniors Luke Koziol, Alex Intihar, Jake Yeager, Chandler Knight, Alex Volschow and Brad Duhow; juniors Ethan Harpst, Mike Lekanka, Kyle Smith, Brandon Macfarlane, Kyle Duncan, Ryan Phillips, Andy Kaszuba and Patrick Eadie; freshman Chad Gilson and eighth grader Brett Stern.
Newfane will now prepare for the post season in Class B-1. The annual seeding meeting is Saturday morning, Roach said. The Panthers are likely to host a home playoff game next week.
Medina 2, Roy-Hart 1
GASPORT — A pair of first-half goals proved to be just enough offense to earn the Mustangs the victory over Roy-Hart on Thursday night under the lights.
Medina led 1-0 on a goal by Mason Roberts just three minutes in.
Roy-Hart rallied to knot the contest on a goal by Jesus Campos at the 28-minute mark of the first half.
However, the Mustangs anwered with a goal by Thomas Goetze, his team leading 15th of the season, with 8:42 remaining in the first half in what proved to be the game-winner.
Medina/Lyndonville finishes its N-O season at 5-6-1 and Roy-Hart finished 2-10.
Lockport 5, Ken East 3
TOWN OF TONAWANDA — With Thursday’s win, head coach Jeff Hulshoff’s Lions finished their Niagara Frontier League season with
an unblemished 14-0 record and are 16-0 overall, heading to next week’s Class AA playoffs.
The blue and gold led Kenmore East 5-0 in the second half before Hulshoff substituted heavily and the Bulldogs scored three goals.
Lions senior Alex Reid opened the scoring just 53 seconds into the game, assisted by junior Joshua Beshaw.
About 20 minutes later, senior Nick Sammarco sent a great through pass in to Beshaw who booted it home to make it 2-0 Lockport.
Lions senior Mike Ford made it 3-0 about 12 minutes later, assisted once again by Beshaw.
