Bryer earns PAL award

Wilson senior is 2013 Prep Athlete of the Year

For the first time in Wilson Central School history, one of its premier student-athletes has won the prestigious PAL Prep Athlete of the Year award.
Lindsay Bryer received her award at the 2013 PAL’s Sports Awards Dinner.
Lindsay plays volleyball and softball, and has earned many awards over her high school career. She was named a Niagara-Orleans League First Team all-star in both and also earned All-Western New York honors, four team MVP awards and the Super 7 Athlete of the Week.
She also helped lead the Lakewomen volleyball team to two consecutive, undefeated N-O League championship seasons.
Lindsay will be attending SUNY Canton this fall and plans to major in Dental Hygiene, while continuing to play volleyball and softball.
Since 1982, the Niagara Police Athletic League has recognized the top high school senior athletes from Niagara County. Thirteen schools in the county nominated one male and one female athlete to represent them at the PAL Sports Awards Dinner.
The basic mission of the Niagara PAL is juvenile crime prevention, accomplished by creating better relations between police, citizens, and community youth through a myriad of interactive programs that include the youth in positive endeavors, athletic and non-athletic, within the community.
Niagara PAL was founded in 1970 with the philosophy of “Cops and Kids” and trying to do the right thing.
With approximately 60 programs, Niagara PAL is able to reach more then 23,000 youths each year.
