Three's a charm for Patterson, Goodman

Wilson sweeps past Roy-Hart in N-O track meet.

WILSON —

Led by triple individual winners Mike Patterson and Angela Goodman, Wilson swept visiting Royalton-Hartland on Tuesday in a Niagara-Orleans League track and field contest, winning the boys' meet, 77-59; and the girls' meet, 73-63.
Patterson, a senior, leapt 6-1 to win the high jump, 19-2 to place first in the long jump and 39-8-and-a-half to win the triple jump.
Also winning events for the Lakemen (2-0 N-O) were Zach Sarratori (100), Zack Bell (400 intermediate hurdles), Colin Delgado (800), Dan Rohring (pole vault) and Sam Irish (discus).
Distance specialist Roy Phipps was a double winner for the Rams (0-1 N-O) with wins in both the 1,600 (5:02.90) and 3,200 (11:14).
In the girls' meet, Goodman placed first three times for the Lakewomen (1-1 N-O) with victories in the 800 (2:45), the high jump (4-4); and the long jump (14-7 ¼).
Brittany White was a double winner for Wilson, taking both the shot put (24 ¾) and discus (64-11).
Emma Lindke won both the 100 and 400 hurdles for the Lady Rams (0-1 N-O).

SANBORN — On Tuesday, the Lions (2-1 NFL) earned points with wins at second and third singles by Nick Guay and Brandon Reid, respectively, but lost narrowly to the host Falcons (2-0 NFL).
Guay downed Austin Hayes of the Falcons, 6-3 6-3; while Reid beat Niagara-Wheatfield's Joe Lebold at third singles, 1-6, 6-1, 6-2.

TOWN OF TONAWANDA — Lockport put together two of three points at singles and earned a win at first doubles to edge the host Bulldogs on Monday. The match was a make-up from a rainout on April 4.
     Lions senior co-captain J.J. Napoli won a hard-fought second set, while freshman Nick Guay won in two long sets at third singles.  At first doubles, the freshman tandem of Brandon Reid and Chris Pawlinski gained the Lions’ third point by winning the third set, 6-3.
      Ken-East’s second doubles players Jacob Oliveri and Jon Glaspy defeated Lockport’s Evan Dick and Antonio Faraci in a battle of teams playing together for the first time.
