Baseball Lions earn first NFL win of the season

Wroblewski hits for cycle in route over visiting Vikings.



For head coach Julie Kwoka's rebuilding Lady Lions (0-2 NFL), freshman Leah VanDenBosch was 2-for-3, while senior Allie Cavagnaro doubled and scored her team's lone run.
Junior Megan Schneider took the loss in the circle for LHS. She walked none and fanned two.
“We were ahead 1-0 until the fifth inning,” Kwoka said. “Errors cost us runs after that.”
Wilson 5, Barker 2
BARKER — The Lakemen earned their first win of the young N-O softball season on the road on Wednesday.
Winning pitcher Lindsay Bryer tossed a 3-hitter with 11 strikeouts for head coach Mo Mahar's Lakewomen (1-1 N-O). Bryer helped her own cause at the plate, going 2-for-3 with  double and 2 RBIs.
Also for Wilson, Tayler Devole also went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Kelly Secor and Lauren Couturier drove in runs.
For the Lady Raiders (0-2 N-O), pitcher Kelsey Blackley had five strikeouts.
Albion 15, CSAT 3
ALBION — Meghan Hurley pitched a five-hitter with six strikeouts to lead Albion  (2-1 N-O).
Halle Jurs and Ali O'Hearn both had four hits for the Lady Purple Eagles.
CSAT dropped to 0-3 in the league.
Roy-Hart 9, Batavia 0
BATAVIA — Taylor Fry pitched a five-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts for the Lady Rams in Wednesday's non-league road win.
Ashley Bower led Roy-Hart with three hits, including a home run.
Lancaster 8, Lockport 4
Freshman Andrew Bronson netted two goals for head coach Scott Reddinger's Lions in Wednesday's loss to the visiting Redskins.
Senior Nick Perilli and junior Tyler Stickney also scored for LHS (0-2 league, 1-3 overall).
Grand Island 9, Lockport 4
Megan Caroll- topped the visiting Lady Vikings with five goals.
Lauren Wager, Drusilla Updegrove, Roserita DiMillo and Erinne Chamot netted goals for head coach Colleen Byrne's Lady Lions.
Lockport 3, Ken East 2
Jeremy Cogovan (second) and J.J. Napoli (third) remained undefeated in singles action Wednesday as head coach Dave Shambach's Lions improved to 2-0 on the young Niagara Frontier Lewague boys tennis season.
