22 — Buffalo (6-9) sacks Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill a season-best seven times and holds Miami (8-7) to 103 yards offense in posting a 19-0 shutout win in Orchard Park. Denver’s Peyton Manning regains his record for TD passes in a season with 51 when he throws for 400 yards and four touchdowns in a 37-13 win at Houston.
23 — Bills injury-prone rookie quarterback EJ Manuel resumes practicing, though it’s not clear whether he’ll play in Buffalo’s season finale at New England this weekend.
24 — Merry Christmas, Sabres. Buffalo defenseman Mark Pysyk takes a shot that hits Martin Hanzal and became lodged in the back of goalie Mike Smith’s jersey. The Coyotes goalie retreats into his crease, unknowingly carrying the puck across the line and ending the game. The Sabres win, 2-1, in overtime.
