Rampage open with 25-12 win

Lockport's newest semi-pro football team travels to 2-0 South Buffalo this Saturday.

The Lockport Rampage broke open a 12-12 contest Saturday night with two late touchdowns, defeating the visiting Buffalo Chargers, 25-12, at Exchange Club Field Outwater Park.
The victory was the milestone first of the regular season for the city’s newest semi-pro football franchise. The Rampage are 1-0 in the SPF The League, while the Chargers dropped to 0-1.

Rampage tight end Cliff Montgomery finished with five catches for 95 yards.
The Rampage dominated defensively throughout, led by veteran linebacker Isiah Johnson’s nine tackles, one-and-a-half sacks, blocked punt and blocked field goal. Sack happy Marcus Wyche had 13 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble,
Also for the Lockport “D,” linebacker Tom Covey had 11 tackles, McDowell recorded nine stops; and Scott finished with six tackles and two forced fumbles.
