Sobieraski hurls Lions '9' past Vikings

Mo knows N-O softball; Lady Spartans continueto roll in ECIC.



Both teams return to action today with Medina traveling to Newfane and Roy-Hart hosting Akron in a pivotal matchup for both teams.
Wilson 7, CSAT 2
WILSON — The Lakemen (1-10) picked up their first win of the season on Tuesday as Jarret Johnston pitched a complete game, striking out four and allowing just three hits and one run.
At the plate, Caden Sidote went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Jonah Miller and Justin Daul added two hits apiece.
Newfane 5, CSAT 0
NEWFANE — Panthers senior ace Josh Kneeland hurled a complete-game, two-hitter with 14 strikeouts on Tuesday.
At the plate, Kneeland helped his own cause going 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Tyler Jurek added an RBI single for Newfane.
Wilson 15, CSAT 2
TONAWANDA — Head coach Mo Mahar’s Lakewomen improved to 6-1 in the Niagara-Orleans League with back-to-back wins on Monday and Tuesday.
In Tuesday’s win at CSAT, Wilson’s Ana Bryer was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts, allowing just three hits.
Senior standout Emily Lasher smacked two doubles and drove in five runs for the winners (6-3 overall). Also for Wilson, Jen Darlak drove in four runs.
CSAT dropped to 2-6 in the N-O.
Wilson 6 Albion 5
ALBION — On Monday, Emily Lasher went 2-for-2 and Alissa DiCesare hit 3-for-3 as the Lakewomen edged winless Albion.
Lasher and Tayler Devole both added offense for Wilson, hitting an RBI apiece.
Devole got the win in the circle. Kelsey Soule shined for the Purple Eagles, hitting four doubles.
Newfane 17, Medina 5
MEDINA — At Vets Park on Tuesday, head coach Katie Stedman’s Lady Panthers exploded for a nine-run top of the first.
Olivia Littman and Gabby Sinnott led the winners with a home run each. Katie Kneeland was 4-for-5 at the plate, driving home six runs.
The winning pitcher was Newfane’s Jerica Dietrich.
