Beaulieu signs on for Canisius

Lockport girl earns academic, rowing scholarship.


Sacred Heart Academy senior Patricia Beaulieu of Lockport has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Canisius College on a rowing and scholastic scholarship.
Beaulieu, the daughter of Robert and Ann Beaulieu, has represented Sacred Heart Academy as a member of the West Side Rowing Club for the past three years.
“A scholar athlete, Patricia is consistently named to Sacred Heart Academy’s honor roll,” said Sacred Heart athletics director Barbara J. Rooney. “She’s an active member of the Sacred Heart community and participates in several clubs, including the Environmental Club, Amnesty International, Donate Life and the S.H.A. Shouties — the school’s student-led athletics booster organization.”
Additionally, Patricia volunteers her time fostering puppies for SPCA of Erie County.

Kenan soccer sign-ups
Registrations are being accepted for the Kenan Center’s winter/spring youth soccer program via mail or at the Kenan Center Arena office, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The registration deadline is Saturday.
The session will begin in January and runs through April. Games for children ages 4 to 10 will be played on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings. Games for 11 to 18 year olds will be on Friday or Saturday. Sessions consist of 10 games, plus playoffs or a 12-game season.
Participants will be placed in divisions, based on age and Kenan soccer ratings. A minimum of four teams is required per division.
The cost is $72 for Kenan members and $85 for non-members. Applications are available at www.kenancenter.org or at the Kenan Arena office at 195 Beattie Ave. For more information, call 433-2619.
