Lockport's Tolli is 3-time Patriot champ

LHS graduate continues to excel at Bucknell.

LEWISBURG, Pa. —

Bucknell women’s track and field led the way with three selections to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, it was announced on Monday. Lockport's Caroline Tolli and teammates Emily Waksmunski and Jennifer Zymet each became multi-term honorees after helping the Lady Bisons to their 13th Patriot League Championship title earlier this month.
Tolli recently concluded one of the top all-around careers in Bucknell track and field history. The senior carried a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average while majoring in education and Spanish and minoring in Latin American studies.
This year she received the Alvin F. Jackson, Jr. Memorial Award, presented “for outstanding academic and athletic achievement and future promise as Bucknell alumni” at the 52nd Annual Bucknell Athletics Senior Recognition Dinner.
In her four years with the Bison, Tolli was twice been voted the Patriot League Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She has also been named to the Bucknell Dean’s List every term and earned seven selections to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. A two-time member of the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, Tolli now has six Academic All-Patriot League citations.
On the track, Tolli continued to break records this spring. Most recently, she set Bucknell’s No. 1 time in the 1,500 meters (4:25.55) at the Virginia Challenge last weekend. Prior to that, she anchored the 4-by-800 relay that won the Patriot League title with the fourth-fastest time in program history (8:53.67).
It was Tolli's third career gold medal in the outdoor 4-by-800 at the conference meet. Also at the Patriot League Championships this spring, Tolli placed second in both the 800 and 1,500 meters.
Caroline’s athletic success has been recognized repeatedly. In April she became the first Lady Bison in more than a decade to win two awards at the Bucknell senior awards dinner, adding the Christy Mathewson Award, presented to the top senior athletes, to her Alvin F. Jackson, Jr. Memorial citation.
She also received All-Patriot League honors 13 times in her career. Tolli will graduate with numerous program top-10 marks. Among them are the outdoor 1,500 record as well as top marks in the outdoor 4-by-800 (8:44.94) and indoor mile (4:49.99).
