Knight time for DeSales swimmers

Lockport youths splash past St. Mary's/St. John's, 153-96.


The DeSales Catholic School swim team won it’s first dual meet of the season Sunday, beating St. Mary’s/St Johns, 153-96.
The Knights’ 8-Under team remained undefeated this season by winning their division, 68-12, while posting 11 all-star swims.
First-place finishers were Aidan Morgan (25-yard freestyle, 50 free), Gracie Cordle (25 breast), Elizabeth Kershaw (100 IM), and Elizabeth Swartz (25 fly). 
Also finishing first were DeSales’ 100 medley relay quartet of Cordle, Kershaw, Grant Harrer and Jack Strong and the 100 free relay team consisting of Morgan, Henry Murphy, Madison Fragale and Grace Buzak.
The Knights’ 9-10-Year-Old Division team also placed first with five all-star swims. Winners were Delaney Adams (100 IM) and Paige Smith (50 fly). 
The quartet of Adams, Grace McKissock, Will Rahill and Evan Chesko won both the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay.
The DeSales 11-Older Division team narrowly missed out in winning their age group, but posted 17 all-star swims.
Placing first for the Knights were Jimmy Sacco (200 free), Riley Adams (100 free) and Haley Hodge (50 back). Winning the 200 medley relay were Hodge, Sacco, Sam Murphy and Mark Crocker.
The Knights will have this coming weekend off and will return to the Sweet Home pool on Oct. 20 to take on St. Christopher’s at noon.
However, this doesn’t mean that most of the Knights will not be in the pool. 
Many of the team members with be putting on a different team suit and cap, participating in the first meet of the season for the Lockport YMCA Stingrays. The Stingrays kick off their season at LHS at 1 p.m. this Saturday.
