7 — LHS senior forward Marisa Guyton tallies a game-high 22 points as the Lady basketball Lions down visiting Lewiston-Porter, 73-39. Mackendzie MacFarlane bowls a 196-542 to help visiting Lockport beat Kenmore East, 4-3, in NFL girls bowling action.
8 — Lockport’s Marathon Mom, Judy Arlington, has her Y-10 Training Class ready to go at this weekend’s annual YMCA Y-10 race downtown.
9 — LHS senior forward D’Antre Cullens nets 11 points in Lockport’s 74-45 loss at Niagara Falls, topping NFL boys basketball action.
10 — Unsung Lockport senior Kendra Warren has a huge game off the bench, sparking the Lady basketball Lions over Niagara Falls, 49-34, in NFL play in the Lady Lions’ Den.
11 — Steven Stamkos has a goal and an assist in Tampa Bay’s 2-1 win over the Sabres in Buffalo.
12 — A record 389 runners participate in the 41st annual YMCA Y-10 race downtown. Chris Walters of Buffalo is the overall winner in 55:35. Jennifer Koeppel-Acker of Cheektowaga wins the women’s race in 1:04.02.
13 — John Masiello’s six-game, 1,369 total beats out 76 other entrants at the 21st Tri-City Masters Bowling Tournament at Allie Brandt Lanes.
14 — Grand Island wins its second straight NFL girls basketball title with a narrow, 37-36 win over visiting Lockport. Brad Bobbitt nets 23 and Chris Luce adds 22 as Roy-Hart defeats Barker, 72-64, in N-O boys hoops action.
15 — Locals are among Jeremy Lin’s biggest fans. The New York guard continues to awe the NBA world as the Knicks win their seventh straight game, 100-85, over the Sacramento Kings.
16 — Wilson and Newfane share the N-O boys basketball title, while Roy-Hart and Wilson share the girls title. Head coach Jill DiTullio’s LHS junior varsity girls basketball team wins the NFL title, finishing a perfect 14-0. Baseball great Gary Carter dies. 
17 — The MSG Network reaches an agreement with Time Warner to put the Buffalo Sabres back on local TV. One state official close to the negotiations credits Jeremy Lin’s popularity with spearheading the long-awaited settlement.
