Middleport Tour of Homes set
Prospective home buyers can experience Middleport’s canal atmosphere on a tour of any, or all, of the featured homes for sale during the Fall 2009 Tour of Homes in Middleport from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The progressive open house event is sponsored by FMC’s Property Price Protection program at 15 Main St.
Fourteen homes for sale are featured and a map of the homes can be picked up at the FMC Price Protection or downloaded from the homepage of the Middleport Web site at www.middleport-ny.com.
While visiting the featured homes, visitors can enter to win one of three grand prizes: A flat panel TV, $200 gas card or a $100 Tops gift card. Realtors will be at each home, along with light refreshments.
The drawing for the three grand prizes will be held at the end of the event at 2:30 p.m. at the Property Price Protection program. Entrants do not have to be present to win. For more information, call 735-9769.
Benefit set for cancer victim
A benefit for breast cancer victim Roxanne Moden will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ridgeway Recreation Center, corner of Route 104 and Horan Road, Medina.
Music will be provided Jerry Moore and Friends of Country Music, the Screaming Pineapples, Ron and Nancy One Song and Last Call. There will also be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffles, a silent auction, door prizes, bake sales and a buffet dinner. Beer and pop will be available.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and free for children 5 and under.

Church plans chicken and biscuit lunch
First Presbyterian Church will host a chicken and biscuit luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, 21 Church St.
In addition to chicken and biscuits, the menu will include mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and dessert. Cost is $8 and the dinner is eat-in or take-out.
Craft show slated in Gasport
The Gasport Chemical Hose Co. will host its annual fall craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the fire company, 8412 State St.
There is free admission and refreshments will be served.

Church plans community lunch
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church will host a free Community Lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday at the church, corner of West Creek and Burt-Wilson roads.
The menu will include pancakes, coffee cake, ham, applesauce, juice, and coffee. All are welcome.

Church plans Oktoberfest
Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7147 Ridge Road, will sponsor an Oktoberfest from 11:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Beef on weck, frankfurters, sauerkraut, salads and homemade pies will be served. There will also be baked goods, produce and crafts.

Community Classic Cinema Oct. 30 in Barker
The first Community Classic Film will be aired at 10 a.m. Oct. 30 in Barker School’s Ludwig Auditorium.
The feature is “I Remember Mama” starring Irene Dunne with Barbara Bel Geddes, Phillip Dorn, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Edgar Bergan, Rudy Vallee and Ellen Corby. The movie is open to seniors and the community and is free of charge. For more information, call Julie Obermiller at 795-9262.
Zonta plans ‘Wine-acopia’ event
The Lockport Zonta Club is holding its 26th Annual Fall Fundraiser, called the Wine-acopia. It is a four-course dinner paired with local wines. It will take place at 6 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Lockport Holiday Inn, 515 S. Transit St.
Along with dinner is a silent auction of locally designed cornucopias, each depicting Niagara County and it abundance. Tickets are $45 and may be purchased by calling Mary Ann at 625-8852.
