Hot Country Liners' season starts May 19 in Newfane

CONTRIBUTEDThe 40-member Hot Country Liners dance team will kick off its 2019 public performance schedule May 19 with a 45-minute line dancing demonstration at the annual Apple Blossom Festival in Newfane.

The Hot Country Liners’ 2019 “kick up” is firmed up. The 40-member dance team will begin its public performing season in mid May and will go until late September.

The dance team performs high-energy line dance demonstrations to a wide variety of music including hip hop, rock ‘n roll, swing and country-western. Its free performances are a staple of community events in the Buffalo-Niagara region; the team also performs at nursing homes and skilled care facilities throughout Western New York.

Any donations received by the dance team for its performances are turned over to local charities including food pantries, veterans organizations, Niagara Hospice and the Niagara Falls Firefighters Toy Fund.

Here is the dance team’s public schedule for spring-summer 2019.

May 19 — 12:30 p.m., Newfane Apple Blossom Festival at Country Village, West Creek and Ide roads.

May 26 — 2:30 p.m., Lockport Memorial Day celebration at the Navy-Marine Club, Park Avenue.

June 3 — 7 p.m., Monday Night Optimist Cruise-in, Ida Fritz Park, Park Avenue.

June 8 — 1 p.m., Ransomville Faire, Ransomville Free Library, Ransomville Road.

June 29 — Lockport Outdoor Arts & Craft Festival, Main Street.

July 6 — 11 a.m., Alden Farm Market, 13119 Broadway (Route 20).

July 13 — 2 p.m., Cheektowaga Craft Fest at Cheektowaga Town Park, Harlem Road.

Aug. 2 — 7 p.m., Niagara County 4-H Fair, Lake Avenue.

Aug. 17 — Time TBD, Pendleton Farm and Home Days, Pendleton Town Park, Campbell Boulevard.

Aug. 18 — 2:30 p.m., Sertoma Club picnic at Hyde Park, 3200 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls (public welcome).

Aug. 20 — 6:30 p.m., car cruise-in at Lockport Presbyterian Home, 327 High St.

Aug. 24 — 11 a.m., Lockport Community Market, Canal Street gazebo.

Sept. 1 — 3 p.m., Oakfield Labor Day Fair, Main Street.

Sept. 7 — 11 a.m., Clarence Farmers Market, the Hollows, 10813 Main St.

Sept. 8 — 12:30 p.m., Darien Lake theme park, Route 77, Corfu.

Sept. 15 — 2 p.m., fundraiser for Lakeview Animal Sanctuary at Gratwick Hose hall, 110 Ward Road, North Tonawanda.

Sept. 29 — 12:30 p.m., Newfane Harvest Fest at Country Village, West Creek and Ide roads.

The dance team will also put on demos during Williamsville Old Home Days and the Orleans County 4-H Fair in July, and at the annual Taste of Lockport at Ida Fritz Park, at times still to be determined.
