Lockport College Women's Club presented its 2019 scholarships at the club's May meeting at Lockport Town and Country Club. This year's recipients are Lockport High School seniors Madison Heburn and Lauren Dmochowski. Each received a a $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 each year for four years of study).

Madison is the daughter of Kim Marie and Michael Heburn. At LHS she has been active in class council, drama club, SADD and chorus. She is a member of the National Honor Society as well as four subject area honor societies. She is a supervisor at Tops Markets in Lockport and dedicates a significant amount of time to dance, for which she competes and also serves as an instructor. Madison will study biology at Niagara University this fall and plans to become a pediatrician.

Lauren is the daughter of Michelle Dmochowski and the late Thomas Dmochowski. At LHS she has been involved with DECA and is a member of National Honor Society and four subject area honor societies. She was recently named a Quality Student of Lockport. Lauren is a dedicated volunteer with Stone's Buddies at Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo. In the fall Lauren will attend D'Youville College and plans to become a dentist.

Since the inception of its scholarship program, LCWC has presented more than $200,000 in scholarships to college-bound young women from Lockport.
