Lockport native, author and English professor Megan Cassidy-Hall will be kicking off a book tour for her latest novel, “Smothered.”
Cassidy-Hall’s first adult novel, “Smothered” is the first book in a new trilogy, loosely inspired by the JonBenet Ramsey case. Told in an epistolary format using a variety of documents including internet message boards, police interrogations, court transcripts, and emails, it’s the fictional story of Kitty Holbrooke, a child star who was murdered 15 years earlier, and a current online tabloid’s attempt to resolve the cold case with input from readers.
The book includes a discussion guide for book club, and Cassidy-Hall is available to visit with book clubs in the area as part of her larger book tour. Books are on sale now on Amazon, with other major retailers to follow soon.
Cassidy-Hall’s first two books were for children and young adults. She writes adult novels under the name MC Hall and writes for children and young adults under the name Megan E. Cassidy.
Cassidy is a graduate of Lockport High School, Concordia University and the state College at Brockport, where she earned a master’s degree in English literature. She is the co-owner of 50/50 Press and a full-time English professor at Schenectady Community College.
