LEWISTON — New York Power Authority will host the STEAM Ahead Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Niagara Power Vista. Youths can get a glimpse of careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and math through free hands-on activities, demonstrations and presentations.

Visiting stations will be manned by: the Buffalo Museum of Science (portable planetarium); Challenger Learning Center of Orleans Niagara Erie (space exploration, robotics); Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station (bomb squad capabilities); Northland Workforce Training Center / Isaiah 61 Project (career prep for advanced manufacturing); iDesign Solutions (robots, drones, etc.); geologist Dino Zack (glowing rocks touch station); UB archeologist Douglas J. Perrelli (demonstrative "dig"); NYPA employees (build a bird house or a race car with members of IBEW Local 2104); and the Niagara County Sheriff's Department (fingerprinting / forensic investigation).

The Newfane Circuit Stompers, Newfane High School's FIRST robotics team, will demonstrate its 2019 robot throughout the day.

Lewiston-based Boy Scout Troop 855 will sell hot dogs, chips and drinks on site. Free rides are available on the Niagara Scenic Trolley between the Power Vista and Gorge Discovery Center throughout the fair. Niagara Power Vista is at 5777 Lewiston Road.
