Registration is open for the 3rd Annual Niagara Celtic 5K, to benefit the Newfane Women’s Lacrosse Club. Casual and serious runners will love the festive event on Sept. 20, at the 15th annual Celtic Festival at Krull Park, Olcott. Join other runners in the completion of this course-certified 5K. This off-site event begins and ends at the festival grounds, and includes passes to the festival and more.
This year, the Niagara Celtic 5K is the final race during the 2015 Dimino Lower Niagara Running Series and the race-day awards ceremony will include awards from the series. Celtic costumes and theme dress are encouraged, so grab your running shoes and kilts and register to join the fun.
The pre-registration fee is $25, and the first 150 registrants will receive a special run T-shirt. Registration on race day is $30 per person. The fee includes computerized chip timing and scoring, splits at mile markers and water halfway, two Sunday passes to the 15th Niagara Celtic Festival and two festival beverage tickets, award ceremony on festival grounds at The Glen after the race, and results posted online. There will be awards presented in each age group from 14 years old and under to 75 and over years (in 5-year increments).
Race day check-in and registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race kicks off at 11 a.m. The course begins and ends near the festival entrance, at the north side of Krull Park.
