A Lackawanna man faces 10 years of probation for trying to arrange paid sex with a 12-year-old girl.

Jonathan Wozniak, 36, responded to an online ad in August 2017 posted by an undercover police officer posing as a mother who was offering her 12-year-old daughter for prostitution. Wozniak agreed to meet at a Pendleton hotel Aug. 18, 2017 for what he thought was paid sex with the girl, but instead found officers who arrested him.

Wozniak pleaded guilty Aug. 29 to attempted second-degree criminal sex act and attempted patronizing a person for prostitution. On Thursday, Niagara County Supreme Court Judge Richard C. Kloch Sr. sentenced Wozniak to a decade of probation, and told him he would be required to register as a sex offender.

Niagara County Sheriff's Office deputies conducted the sting in conjunction with the FBI's Child Exploitation Task Forces.
