City of Lockport

DWI: William Lyons Jr., 46, 299 Northland Ave., upper, Buffalo, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, illegal signaling and failure to use a designated lane June 9, after an 8:45 p.m. traffic stop on West Avenue. In breath testing, Lyons' blood alcohol content measured 0.27 percent, according to Lockport Police Department. Lyons was detained for $500 police bail.

POSSESSION: David J. Whitman, 29, 5860 Sheridan Drive, Williamsville, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance June 8. Police performing building checks at the Kenan Center saw Whitman, the subject of two arrest warrants from the city, and detained him. Upon search, Whitman was found with an unspecified controlled substance, according to LPD. Whitman was kept in custody pending a court appearance.

POSSESSION: Lana D. Smolinski, 44, 5592 Irish Road, North Tonawanda, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance June 7, after police investigated a report of a woman slumped over the wheel in the Lockport Public Library parking lot. An officer searched Smolinski's purse and found five pills that Smolinski identified as "hydros" as well as a quantity of other suspected narcotics, according to LPD. Smolinski was released on recognizance.

HARASSMENT: Leonard Jones, 33, 74 Genesee St., apt. 1, was charged with second-degree harassment, third-degree menacing and trespassing June 6. Jones is accused of panhandling and hurling obscenities outside 7-Eleven, Park Avenue, from which he was previously banned, according to LPD. Jones got a ticket.

PETIT LARCENY: Noah A. Sherman, 19, 8710 Niagara Falls Boulevard, apt. 4, Niagara Falls, was charged with petit larceny June 6, in connection with the June 3 theft of several video game consoles from a Chestnut Street residence, according to LPD. Sherman got a ticket.

 

 

Hartland

UNLICENSED: Jennifer N. Bilby, 33, 8762 Ridge Road, Gasport, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed motor vehicle operation June 10, after a 12:59 a.m. traffic stop on Ridge Road. Bilby's driver's license is suspended, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. Bilby was detained for $250 police bail.

UNLICENSED: Amanda R. Trowbridge, 28, 64 Alberta Drive, Buffalo, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed motor vehicle operation and speeding June 8, after an 11:30 p.m. traffic stop on Saunders Settlement Road. Trowbridge's driver's license is suspended, according to the sheriff's office. Trowbridge got a ticket.
