Heritage Manor is celebrating 30 years of providing assisted and independent living care for seniors in the Lockport community.

The Manor, a 40-unit facility on Lexington Court, opened in 1989 under Executive Director Louis J. Stich, who remains the director today. Several years later, the same ownership team opened Heritage Estates, an independent living facility with 24 apartment units for seniors.

Heritage Manor Administrator Ray Geiser said that while they have operated a number of facilities over the years, Heritage Manor has always been their "crown jewel."

“It’s a highly sought-after facility," Geiser said.

Heritage Manor will begin its 30th anniversary celebrations with a kick-off party Feb. 22 and a larger party July 19. Geiser said that over the years, Heritage Manor and the Estates have served over 850 area seniors.

"We’re embracing the fact we’ve been taking care of residents in the community for so many years,” Geiser said.

Geiser said they are planning a series of capital improvements in the coming years, including remodeling the dining room.

Heritage Manor is primarily a private facility, though it does accept veteran's benefits, such as Aid and Attendance.
