Lockport's Winter Farmers Market has a new permanent home and it'll be shown off on Saturday morning.
The winter market, which is operated on the first and third Saturdays every month from November through May, is sited in a recently renovated area of Building 3 at Harrison Place, 210 Walnut St.
A ribbon-cutting on the new space will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday.
This month's market is informally dubbed a "holiday farmers market." From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., it'll be staffed by over 30 vendors, with live music and hot food service in the background.
“We are always striving to find ways to be more engaged in our community, serve our community members and build a healthy city for our residents and business owners,” said Jessica Dittly, program director of Lockport Main Street, which operates the market.
“The new location allows us to grow the market and will give the public an opportunity to step inside one of Lockport’s most unique spaces," added Assistant Program Director Colton Balcerzak.
With the changed location, shoppers will now enter the market from South Street near Washburn Street. Parking is available along Building 3 on South Street, as well as in the main Harrison Place parking lot.
Renovation of the winter market space was funded partly through a grant from Empire State Development.
